Description:

Please join us in presentation about mobile and ICT solutions in agriculture. The presenters will discuss the lessons learned from the e-PADEE project which aims to bring mobile technology closer to farmers. The e-PADEE project is part of the national strategy of the government of Cambodia to increase rice production and improve the livelihoods of hundred million households of smallholder farmers. Through an electronic system, farmers are able to access extension services and receive accurate technical advice on seeds, fertilizer, pest and disease management. So far, 1650 farmers have been positively affected by the technology by learning new information, with early indication that these farmers have experienced better agricultural yields. The project is funded by the UN’s International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and includes partners such as The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Grameen Intel Social Business (GISB), SNV and iDE.
